How this site got the way it is, newest first. The entry says what changed; beside a few, a note says why, in the maker’s hand. “Considered options” opens what else was on the table.

The same blue draws the data and marks the phrase
Chart lines move from ink to pen, the family blue, and a phrase here and there gets a hand-drawn underline in that same blue. Two on the page, no more.
considered options
- aPen for the line, gold at the endKeeps the annotation reading as an annotation instead of competing with a blue line. The series is drawn in the family blue; the one gold dot still marks where it lands, which is the single annotation the house viz rule allows per chart.
- bUnderline as a mark, not a styleThe underline is a stretched SVG of two pen passes, so no two are the same length and none of them is a text-decoration rule. Used on the thing a reader would repeat, not on every claim.
- aPen for the line, gold at the endKeeps the annotation reading as an annotation instead of competing with a blue line.

A shelf, not a sermon
First page up: a scroll of five posts, two kinds of proof. The name has a swear in it, so the first screen has to read as a gift rather than a rant.
considered options
- aThe scrollSmallest honest page, and it leaves the chart-first version available later with no rework.Name, one promise line, posts newest first. Five posts and the page is real; adding one is appending a block.
- bManifesto over streamThree or four paragraphs on what the site is for, then the stream. Rejected: the words have to be JC's, and a manifesto written for him is exactly the rant a stranger already expects.
- cChart as the front doorOne long-run chart fills the first screen. Strongest first impression, but it fixes the register as a data site before anything has been posted in the other three types. Held as the next move.
